Sample Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Toronto to Montreal
You will start off early towards Montreal, city of festivals. First, you will stop at the Big Apple to enjoy a quick break and an optional piece of fresh apple pie! Next you will head towards Kingston, the original capital of Upper Canada for a lunch break at a local restaurant. Then in the early afternoon continue on to Montreal, arriving in the city in the early evening. At night you can head out to enjoy the unique nightlife in this bilingual city and practice your French language skills!
Day 2: Montreal
Travel into the USA en-route to historical Boston. First you will cross the border (please have all your papers in order), then you will continue through the beautiful hills and villages of Vermont. You will make a stop for lunch at Mount Washington for some picture taking opportunities and arrive in Boston in the early evening. In the evening you will head out to Cambridge, home of Harvard, MIT and Boston University, for a college town experience!
Day 3: Boston
You have a free day to walk Newbury St and visit the famous ice cream parlor JP Licks. Take a stroll to Boston Harbor and get a good feel for the coast with a walk along the water and through the downtown core. In the evening you will have dinner and drinks at the Cheers pub where the long-running television show Cheers was filmed.
Day 4: Boston to New York City
In the morning you will journey to New York City. You should arrive in New York in the early afternoon. After dropping your bags off at the hostel, you will head out to explore Times Square and the Empire State building. It's your first night in the Big Apple... and the city is yours to explore.
Day 5: New York City
Join your guide to visit some of the most exciting neighborhoods of NYC, such as Greenwich Village, Alphabet City and Soho. This is a great day to visit the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, the Museum Mile and Central Park. In the evening, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy some of the NYC nightlife or catch a famous Broadway show!
Day 6: New York City to Niagara Falls
Today is a long journey back to Canada. You will arrive in Niagara Falls in the evening for free time to explore the exciting Clifton Hill and see the Falls at night lights show!
Day 7: Niagara Falls to Toronto
In the morning you will board the Maid of the Mist boat - don't worry, we will give you a poncho! Then head to Niagara on the Lake for lunch and free time, then off to a winery where you can taste the famous Ice Wine! Ice Wine is a sweet dessert wine with a rich, golden color. It is made from the last grapes of the season remaining on the vines, which can get icy. You will arrive back in Toronto in the evening, then have a group dinner and drinks at Global Village Backpackers!
Food & Beverages:
Each hostel on the route offers a self-serve kitchen so you can prepare your own food. You also have the choice of eating at restaurants or cafes, so ask your driver or guide for recommendations. This tour includes some meals and activities (see Tour Itinerary).
Preparing For Your Trip:
~ Bring proper clothing for the tour. The weather in Canada is predictable, but changes in temperature can occur throughout the day depending on location (this is especially true in the mountains or during the spring and fall months elsewhere).
~ If possible, bring a credit card with you while traveling. Credit cards can be used as identification and for making deposits on rentals if needed.
~ Don’t forget your camera — you will definitely want to take photos of new friends, beautiful scenery and wild animals!
