Your Tour Guide will reserve your shared accommodations in youth hostels at every stop en-route, however you are responsible for paying each hostel directly. Sample Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Toronto to Montreal
You will start off early towards Montreal, city of festivals. First, you will stop at the Big Apple to enjoy a quick break and an optional piece of fresh apple pie! Next you will head towards Kingston, the original capital of Upper Canada for a lunch break at a local restaurant. Then in the early afternoon continue on to Montreal, arriving in the city in the early evening. At night you can head out to enjoy the unique nightlife in this bilingual city and practice your French language skills!
Day 2: Montreal
Enjoy a free day to explore the beautiful city of Montreal. Take a walk with your tour guide to see Mont Royal and the old part of the city, or if you prefer, you can see the city for yourself. In the evening you will head out to the Latin Quarter for a nice patio meal (weather permitting) and some live music at a local pub.
Day 3: Montreal to Boston
Travel into the USA en-route to historical Boston. First you will cross the border (please have all your papers in order), then you will continue through the beautiful hills and villages of Vermont. You will make a stop for lunch at Mount Washington for some picture taking opportunities and arrive in Boston in the early evening. In the evening you will head out to Cambridge, home of Harvard, MIT and Boston University, for a college town experience!
Day 4: Boston
You have a free day to walk Newbury St and visit the famous ice cream parlor JP Licks. Take a stroll to Boston Harbor and get a good feel for the coast with a walk along the water and through the downtown core. In the evening you will have dinner and drinks at the Cheers pub where the long-running television show Cheers was filmed.
Day 5: Boston to New York City
In the morning you will journey to New York City. You should arrive in New York in the early afternoon. After dropping your bags off at the hostel, you will head out to explore Times Square and the Empire State building. It's your first night in the Big Apple... and the city is yours to explore.
Day 6: New York City
Join your guide to visit some of the most exciting neighborhoods of NYC, such as Greenwich Village, Alphabet City and Soho. Swing through the photo fantastic Grand Central Station and see the home of Broadcast Giant NBC at Rockefeller Center. In the evening, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy some of the NYC nightlife or catch a famous Broadway show!
Day 7: New York City
Enjoy a free day to visit the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, The Museum Mile and Central Park! By now you'll be a New York expert and may swing through one of the famous jazz lounges or sip drinks with the locals in New York.
Day 8: New York City to Philadelphia
You will depart in the late morning for Philadelphia and head down the famous New Jersey Turnpike. Arrive just in time to experience sunset at the Liberty Bell and climb the Philadelphia Museum of Art's stairs... just like Rocky did! (No need for the raw egg smoothie) The evening is yours to explore as your guide will lead you to some authentic live Philly music or you can create your own game plan to enjoy Philly!
Day 9: Philadelphia to Washington DC
Set off for the USA Capital with a lunch stop in Baltimore. You will have the opportunity to see the White House (you must have authorized permission from a Member of Congress to visit inside the White House). You will also visit several other DC hot spots. At night you'll check out the famous Georgetown University for a local pub and grub experience!
Day 10: Washington DC
Put on your walking shoes as your guide gives you an amazing tour that includes visits to Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Veterans, Korean Memorials, and the Washington Monument. The afternoon is yours for free time. Ask your guide to point you in the direction of the famous Smithsonian Museum or the Holocaust Museum. In the evening you may want to catch a baseball game in the new stadium for the Washington Nationals.
Day 11: Washington DC to Pittsburgh
On the way to Pittsburgh you will stop at Gettysburg, home of the famous Civil War battle. As you roll into Pittsburgh, the group heads out to the top of Mt. Washington! As you arrive at the bottom of the 367 ft mountain you will ride a series of inclines that have been restored from the 1800s all the way to the top, and then enjoy an amazing overlook. There you'll have some of the most amazing views (Voted #2 most beautiful place in USA). There are lots of great restaurants to enjoy around Mt. Washington before heading back to downtown Pittsburgh for the night.
Day 12: Pittsburgh to Cleveland
Leave bright and early as one of the biggest thrill days of our journey awaits - Cedar Point! Voted Best Amusement Park in the world 13 years in a row, this park hosts 8 of the 12 top rated roller coasters in the world! After a full day of fun, you'll head to Cleveland for the night and a chance to catch your breath after a full day of excitement!
Day 13: Cleveland to Niagara Falls
Before you depart Cleveland and drive along famous Lake Erie, you will stop at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for a chance to visit with some of the biggest stars to ever grace the stage! Then continue on to Niagara Falls. Enjoy free time in the evening to explore Clifton Hill and see the Falls at Night light show!
Day 14: Niagara Falls to Toronto
In the morning you will board the Maid of the Mist boat - don't worry, we will give you a poncho! Then head to Niagara on the Lake for lunch and free time, then off to a winery where you can taste the famous Ice Wine! Ice Wine is a sweet dessert wine with a rich, golden color. It is made from the last grapes of the season remaining on the vines, which can get icy. You will arrive back in Toronto in the evening, then have a group dinner and drinks at Global Village Backpackers!
Food & Beverages:
Each hostel on the route offers a self-serve kitchen so you can prepare your own food. You also have the choice of eating at restaurants or cafes, so ask your driver or guide for recommendations. This tour includes some meals and activities (see Tour Itinerary).
Preparing For Your Trip:
~ Bring proper clothing for the tour. The weather in Canada is predictable, but changes in temperature can occur throughout the day depending on location (this is especially true in the mountains or during the spring and fall months elsewhere).
~ If possible, bring a credit card with you while traveling. Credit cards can be used as identification and for making deposits on rentals if needed.
~ Don’t forget your camera — you will definitely want to take photos of new friends, beautiful scenery and wild animals!

Q: Are the costs of nightly accommodations included in the tour price?
A: No. However, beds are available for each guest at all stopovers. Please be advised the accommodations guaranteed are only at certain hostels and are dorm-style beds only. Your Tour Guide will reserve your shared accommodations in youth hostels at every stop en-route, however you are responsible for paying each hostel directly. Passengers wishing to stay at other hostels or hotels are encouraged to book their own accommodations.
Q: Is there an age limit?
A: NO - most travelers are between 18-35 but anyone is welcome. Travelers should be adventurous, independent, and familiar with hostels and/or campgrounds.
Q: Can we do our own cooking?
A: YES! Most youth hostels have cooking facilities and your driver will make grocery stops along the way. Often your driver will also organize meals for those interested - it makes cooking easy and cheap!
Q: What should I bring?
A: Bring clothes for a variety of weather. Summer temperatures can range from a high of 35c to a cool 0C in the mountains in the evening. Good trainers or light hiking boots are also recommended. Sleeping bags are not essential. Bring your camera and a fun attitude!
Q: How much money should I budget for my trip?
A: Most of your money will be spent in the following three areas:
~ Accommodations - budget approximately $18-$35 CAD per night.
~ Food - budget approximately $15 - $34 CAD per day depending on how much/where you eat.
~ Activities - anywhere from $50-$215 CAD.
Q: What happens if I do not want to participate in an activity?
A: All activities are optional. There will be more than one option for paid activities and a free option every day.
Q: What are the buses like?
A: The vehicles are safe, comfortable mini-coaches which seat 11-24 people.
Q: Is it okay if I travel alone?
A: YES! Most passengers travel alone, but you'll find couples and small groups on the trip as well.
